Your Stories
We have heard some of the most amazing, most fun stories over the years about your time at Funtastic. We are compiling stories for our 25th anniversary (yes, we turn 25 next year) and would like to include some of your fondest memories on our website and in the program. Here are a few to sample from our volunteers. Simply fill out the form and email us your story. All entries will be entered into a free draw.
The Many Weddings
“Many people have met at Funtastic then been married, many have been wed at Funtastic, at home plate or on the stage. But, I only know of one wedding that planned their wedding around their games, they were wed, then can to play ball in their Wedding Dress and Tuxes – the full wedding party participated. Thanks Team – Wedding Party” Jason Gilbert, Executive Director – Year 2005
The Flintstones
“Only at Funtastic… I have seen plenty of costumes over the years, everything from Dallas Cowgirls and Super Heros to a full team of Starwars, but the best of the best has to be The Flintstones, equipped with foot powered car and everything. They would run the bases in their car, nothing says Funtastic more than a team that can hit, jump in their foot powered car and still make it to first” Deb Treherne, Volunteer - Year 2003
Ahh To Be a Pitcher – The Most Dangerous Position
“Over the year’s there has been an injury or two, but I will never forget the team that vowed not to drive all weekend (I must commend them on that). It was an average game, nothing special, then catcher tossed the ball back to the pitcher (as he has done a thousand times before), the pitcher missed and whammo, out came a couple of teeth. As president, I volunteered to drive the player to the hospital, we ended up spending the entire night in the hospital, needless to say we got to know each other better and the team stayed true to their vow” Lumby President – Year 2007
